My Maranao Munny by rijah My Maranao Munny by rijah
My Maranao Munny.

The Maranao are found in the region of Lanao on the large island of Mindanao in the Philippines. The Moro people in this region are the 6th largest ethnic group of the Philippines.

The organic scrollwork called 'okkir' is found in woven, carved, and painted artworks and is dramatized here in the sawwal, trousers, shirt, hat, and shield. These motifs are also found on musical instruments and in other regions of southeast Asia.

I hand carved a kris, sword, but want to replace with something better as soon as possible. The jacket was the hardest part.

This one is special and I won't be making another like it. I wonder if people would be willing to requisition other Munny like my Ifugao Munny or ethnic Munny.

Ahh, the legendary Kris.

I knew some Maranao. They are intense.

Good work with these. I like them. Cute and historic. More, please.
